The budget of the Assembly of the Republic for 2024, which provides for a total expenditure of 136.2 million euros, of which 4.6 million will be allocated to subsidies for electoral campaigns, was approved this Friday with Chege and I.L. abstaining.

Of the total expenditure, 93.2 million euros will be allocated to operations and investments, and 42.8 million to autonomous entities and government subsidies.

Of these 42.8 million, 21.7 million correspond to political and public subsidies, and 4.6 million are planned for electoral campaigns in 2024, the year when elections will be held for the European Parliament and the Azores Regional Legislative Assembly.

Also in the category of subsidies, 16 million euros are intended for political parties and forces represented in Parliament, and 285 thousand euros – for political forces not represented in the Assembly of the Republic.

Of the expenses classified under the operating and investing category, about 57.4 million is for personnel costs and 22.7 million for the purchase of goods and services.

The revenue forecast in the parliament’s budget map for 2024, approved this Friday, envisages a total of $136.2 million, which will come from transfers from the state budget, as well as from other categories such as the remainder from the previous leadership of the Assembly of the Republic. in the amount of 136.2 million dollars. 17 million euros and other own income.

According to Map 4 of the draft state budget law for 2024 presented by the government to Parliament, concerning the organic classification of expenditures in the central government subsector of the Assembly of the Republic, the budget allocation for the next year amounts to 118.7 million euros.
