Al-Nasr, with Cristiano Ronaldo, Luis Castro and Otavio, beat Al-Duhail 4-3 in the Asian Champions League, with two goals from the Portuguese star. The meeting was broadcast on CMTV.
The Saudis’ first goal was scored in the first half in the 25th minute by Brazilian Anderson Talisca.
In the second half, after a goal against Al Duhail was disallowed, Sadio Mane and Cristiano Ronaldo increased Riyadh’s lead in the 56th and 61st minutes respectively.
The Portuguese’s 861st career goal had the entire stadium singing his name after his powerful strike for the monumental goal.
Just when Al Nasr seemed to be in control of the match, Portuguese rival Ruben Semedo scored two goals to restart the match. Ismail Mohammad scored the first goal for the Qataris in the 63rd minute, Almoez the second in the 67th minute.
However, the excitement of the match was not over yet and there was still time for Cristiano Ronaldo to score again in the 80th minute.
Al Duhail still threatened to draw, but Olunga’s goal in the fifth minute after 90 was not enough for the visitors to get a point.
With this result, Al-Nasr, which also included Otavio in the starting line-up, secured their third win in three games of the tournament and sits top of Group E. The Saudis have now gone 13 games in a row without defeat.
Al Duhail, owned by Ruben Semedo and Brazilian Philippe Coutinho, is third with two losses and a draw.
