The government is not involved in the discussion of the housing crisis

The executive bench was empty for two hours of debate on various housing measures this Wednesday.

Several opposition parties have questioned the lack of government. “The Socialist Party has ruined the housing issue,” Pedro Filipe Soares said this Wednesday in Parliament, accusing even the largest party of having no proposals in this area.

“Why is the Housing Minister not in Parliament?” asked also PSD MP Marcia Passos.

The left bloc has introduced several measures, such as capping rent increases, although the government has yet to give any guidance on this. BE wants to limit “the increase in current and new contracts to 0.4%, the value in force before the inflation crisis” and “maximum ceilings set depending on location and type of property,” said blogger Mariana Mortagua.
