Two men were arrested on “serious suspicions” of attempted murder and robbery last July in Portimão, Faro district, the Judicial Police (PJ) said on Friday.
“Judicial Police through DIC [Departamento de Investigação Criminal] Portimão, two men have been identified and detained on suspicion of involvement in an attempted murder and robbery committed last July in Portimão,” the security forces said in a statement.
According to the note, “the suspects attacked the victim with several stab wounds in the torso and upper limbs,” during an attempted robbery with a sharp weapon, at a vacant location in the center of Portimao and after the victim refused to name the location. where the money they intended to steal was found.
The suspects then fled without treating or helping the victim, who was left in a “very serious condition” and did not die only because she was treated, intervened and hospitalized, a situation that continues to this day because she had an organ removed that “Judging by the injuries he received, he was in an irreversible condition.”
According to the joint venture, the detainees, aged 22 and 25, with a criminal record, were present at the first judicial interrogation; coercive measures were applied to them in the form of periodic presentations and a ban on contact with the victim.
The investigation is being led by the Portimão prosecutor’s office.
