Andre Ventura criticized the “suffering parade of personalities” at the PSD congress

Chegi leader André Ventura this Saturday accused the PSD of not wanting to win and of simply counting so as not to lose, calling the Social Democratic congress “a suffering parade of personalities who should already be at home.”

“The PSD considers it more important to contain the votes of Chegi than to actually win the country,” said André Ventura, reacting to the speeches made at the 41st Congress of the Social Democrats, which took place this Saturday in Almada (Setubal district), which he called “the party’s apparent lack of energy, motivation and spirit of change.”

Criticizing the position of the president of the largest opposition party, Luis Montenegro, “who wants to be moderate,” the Chegi leader said he sees in Congress “a suffering parade of individuals, some of whom, frankly, should already be at home,” instead of “marching at the congresses, saying that it is important to make some calculations about whether there could be an election coalition to isolate Chega.”

Andre Ventura even considered the PSD “a party that is gradually disappearing”, which prefers to “present itself to voters as similar to the PS, thinking that this will allow it to gain votes in the center.”

“Portuguese politics has already taught us that when there is a copy and an original, people choose the original,” he added, arguing that “the country at the moment needs some form of radicalism, it needs some radicalism against corruption, it needs some radicalism against excessive taxes requires some radicalism against poverty.”

Recalling that “Europe is changing” and that “people want solutions,” André Ventura emphasized that “since the PSD is in real stagnation, right-wing voters have only one option: vote for Chegu.”

On the sidelines of a dinner with activists in Rio Mayor (Santarem district), Chegui’s leader said he hoped the PSD Congress was “a push forward to say what we want for the country, a great justice reform.” what the country needs, ethics, transparency,” which he said he didn’t see.

In Chega’s case, he assured, the Congress “will be completely different, it will be country-oriented, it will be victory-oriented and, yes, with this radicalism against corruption, with this radicalism against excessive taxes, with this radicalism against clientelism, because the time demands this good radicalism,” he concluded.

The “start” of the election campaign and the electoral campaign, “which will be long and difficult”, was given this Saturday in Rio Mayor at a dinner with the participation of about 420 militants and supporters of Chega, dedicated to November 25, 1975.

“Our opponent is the PS,” Ventura said, declaring that, along with European issues, the party will focus on the issues most important to Portugal, “presenting concrete ideas, ambitious goals to fight corruption,” as well as proposals for justice reform. .
