A 60-year-old Brazilian woman was rescued by a neighbor in Arcos de Valdeves last Sunday after she was stabbed by her ex-partner. The 53-year-old man, also Brazilian, was arrested by Braga’s judicial police and sent to prison by a judge on Friday. The victim was wounded in the head, neck and arms, but his life is no longer in danger.
The brutal attack took place late last Sunday in Paso, Arcos de Valdevez, at the house where the former couple lived. After the end of a 10-year relationship, the woman went to Brazil, but recently returned to Portugal. She asked her ex-partner to let her stay in the house until she found a new place to live.
However, driven by unhealthy jealousy, the man, who had never come to terms with the breakup, tried to kill his ex-wife.
