Until two weeks ago, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) of Adams County, Pennsylvania was operating at near capacity. “For the first time in 47 years, the SPCA is empty, especially at Christmas, it’s a real miracle!” they write on Facebook. “Staff and volunteers have worked hard to care for the animals in our care and ensure they are adopted into the right home!” – they wrote.
The center in southern Pennsylvania said it has helped adopt 598 animals this year and reunited 125 strays with their owners.
