A Tesla engineer was attacked by a robot at the company’s plant in Austin, Texas. According to daily mail, the machine broke down and the worker suffered injuries to his back and arm.
Incident data refers to 2021. Two witnesses saw their co-worker attacked by a robot designed to grab and move freshly cast aluminum car parts.
The robot blocked a man who was programming the software of two machines and inflicted several injuries on him, leaving a trail of blood.
The injury report, which Tesla is required by law to provide to authorities to maintain tax benefits in Texas, said the engineer did not need a work permit after the attack.
Tesla did not report any other robot-related accidents at its Texas plant in 2021 or 2022 to regulators. The case comes at a time of growing concern about the risks posed by automated robots in the workplace.
