Trump disqualified from Maine presidential election

According to a report, the Maine Election Commission in the United States this Thursday revoked Donald Trump’s right to vote in the 2024 presidential election. Reuters. The decision only applies to the March 2024 primary election, but could also affect Trump’s standing in the November general election.

Maine Secretary of State Shanna Bellows incited the insurrection when Trump spread false claims of voter fraud in the 2020 election.

Trump is “unfit to hold the office of President” under the 14th Amendment, Shanna Bellows, the election official, said in a filing.

Trump said he would appeal Colorado’s decision to the Supreme Court and criticized the election challenges as “anti-democratic.”

Maine is the second state in the US to remove Trump from the ballot.

The Colorado Supreme Court ruled last week to disqualify Donald Trump, making him the first candidate in US history to be found ineligible for the presidency for his role in the insurrection before the 2021 attack on the Capitol.

California Secretary of State Shirley Weber placed Trump on the certified list of candidates for the March 5 primary, saying any voting problems would be up to the courts to resolve.
