PSP identifies six suspects in attack on couple in Porto

Porto’s PSP has identified six suspects in an alleged xenophobic and homophobic attack on a Brazilian couple that occurred early Saturday morning, an official police source told Lusa this Wednesday.

According to a PSP source, the suspects, aged between 19 and 25 years old, were identified by the complainants as they were heading in an ambulance to the Vila Nova de Gaia – Espinho Hospital Center early on Saturday morning.

According to PSP, a Brazilian couple filed a complaint after being the victim of an attack on Avenida Paiva Couceiro in Porto at 3am on Saturday.

Information provided to Lusa by one of the complainants, Bruno Marcelino, refers to a “xenophobic and homophobic” attack suffered by the couple, aged 23 and 31, and is accompanied by photographs of their bloodied faces.

According to PSP, the couple referred to the approach of about a dozen people who asked them for 10 euros and then began to attack them and fled.

The police explained that upon arrival at the scene, first by units from Vila Nova de Gaia and then by the picket, they found only two victims, but on the way to the hospital they were able to identify six alleged attackers. .

According to PSP, one of those identified also has Brazilian citizenship.
