According to the carrier, a strike by Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP) workers led to the stoppage of 284 trains out of 438 planned by CP (64.8%) this Thursday from 00:00 to 10:00.
This Thursday, workers at Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP) are experiencing the second and final day of a periodic strike, with minimum services set.
In a note sent by Lusa about the impact of this strike on CP, the company states that in Lisbon city connections, out of 215 planned, 146 were removed, and in intercity connections, 25 were planned and 19 were removed. .
The company also indicates that out of 438 planned trains, 154 were completed, all with minimal maintenance.
On Tuesday, the first day of the strike, 798 trains out of about 1,086 were stopped, with only minimal service between 00:00 and 19:00, according to CP.
The president of Aprofer – Association of Railway Management and Control Specialists, Adriano Filipe, told Lusa on Tuesday that the strike, which covers workers, command, control, information, traffic management and the conservation of railways in the IP, is related to work conditions and pay.
“The reasons for this strike are the same” as the strike scheduled for September 2022, he recalled, pointing out that IP had committed to negotiating an agreement, but that has not happened since then.
During the strike days, a minimum volume of services is guaranteed: regional, interregional and international Alfa Pendular and Intercidades trains, Porto city trains, Coimbra city trains and Lisbon city trains are expected to operate.
