The National Council of the SDS-NP unanimously approved the coalition with the SDP and the PPM

The CDS-PP National Council unanimously approved the party’s integration into the Democratic Alliance (AD) coalition with the PSD and PPM to compete in the legislative elections in March and the European elections in June.

The information was conveyed to Lusa by sources who attended the meeting of the party’s highest body between congresses, which took place this evening at the national headquarters of the CDS-PP in Lisbon.

Approximately 150 CDS-PP councilors voted to participate in the next legislative and European elections on joint lists with the PSD and the People’s Monarchist Party (PPM) in all constituencies, as well as the name, acronym and symbol of the coalition.

However, the National Council did not discuss the details of this alliance, but agreed with the proposal to instruct Secretary General Pedro Morais Soares to “negotiate the terms of a political agreement.”

Before the start of the meeting, the President of the SDS-PP announced that the candidate in the joint lists had also been unanimously approved by the National Political Commission of the party.

The PSD and SDS-PP announced on December 21 last year that they will compete in the legislative elections in March and the European elections in June with an electoral coalition that is reclaiming the name Democratic Alliance (the name of the first coalitions concluded between the SDS-PP). and SDS-PP in the 80s) and which will include “independent individuals”.

On Wednesday it was announced that the PPM will also join this electoral coalition, already approved by the party organs.

This is the fourth time that the PSD and CDS-PP will vote together in legislative elections.

The PSD also confirmed this coalition this Thursday in Braga.
