Docapesca workers with salary increases from 3% to 7%

Salary updates at Docapesca this year will range from 3% to 7%, in accordance with an agreement between the state-controlled company and unions associated with the CGTP and UGT, the government announced this Saturday.

The agreement was reached on Thursday with the Trade Union of Merchant Marines, Travel Agencies, Freight Forwarders and Fisheries (Simamevip, affiliated to the CGTP) and the Democratic Union of Fisheries (Sindepescas, UGT), according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food. .

“It was possible to reach an agreement guaranteeing an update of the wage table of between 3% and 7% from 1 January 2024, corresponding to an increase of at least 57 euros for each employee,” the ministry said.

The ministry also announced in a statement that “the minimum wage will be set at Docapesca at 865 euros” in line with the commitment previously made to the company’s employees.

The measure aims to “assess the level of specialization of the functions performed through differential remuneration compared to the national minimum wage,” he said.

The decision “guarantees a balance between increasing workers’ wages and the economic and financial sustainability of the company,” Minister Maria do Seu Antunes said, quoted in the statement.

The agreement creates “the necessary stability so that activities in fishing ports can proceed normally,” the minister added.

Docapesca – Portos e Lotas, SA is a public sector business company controlled by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food and the Ministry of Finance.
