Argentine President Javier Miley this Thursday insisted on one of the central ideas of his election platform, which concerns the closure of the central bank, which he said he will do “sooner or later.”
In an interview with Radio La Red, Miley said that “sooner or later I will close the central bank.”
In addition to this point, he referred to inflation coming out in the next few hours, which he said would be high, but foresaw prices falling in the coming months.
Mealey said last weekend that a 30% price increase would be “huge”, but today he assured that if the figure were around 25% it would be a “huge success”.
The Argentine government predicts that price increases in the last month of 2023 will be very high and could result in year-to-year fluctuations approaching 200%, putting Argentina in a hyperinflationary situation.
