Paulo Raimundo says “it’s time to face those who think they own everything”

This Saturday, the general secretary of the PKP said that “the time has come to face those who think they own it all,” considering that “empowering the IPS is giving votes to illusion” and voting for the right is choosing regression.

Speaking at the PCP National Assembly for Elections in Lisbon, Paulo Raimundo said that “they can broadcast all the polls, paint all the scenarios, try to reduce the debate to an exchange of pennants between A and B, not allow the debate to be about the reality of life,” but they they will not count on their party for “these maneuvers.”

“The country’s problems cannot be solved either by declarations of good intentions, or by changing the style, or by reworking the main characters,” he said.

Addressing the opponents of the PCP in the next legislative elections, Paulo Raimundo stated that “the empowerment of the PSD, CDS, Chege and IL gives voice to regression and a return to the times of bad memories” when “governments, options and politics, where are those who are where now they call themselves the old Democratic Alliance, but also those who are in Chega and Illinois today.”

“Yes, everyone was there in the Government and in support of the Troika’s policy of national disaster, in the Government’s aggression against the people and the country. Yes, they were all there: SDP, SDS, Chega and IL in cutting pensions, wages, stealing vacations and Christmas benefits,” he said, adding that they were ready to “emphasize their policy of destruction.”

On the other hand, the communist leader also stated that the PKP knows that “giving strength to the PS is giving voice to illusions, it is giving strength to those who, as these two years of absolute majority show, did not respond and did not want to respond to problems.”

“Don’t count on the PKP to have any illusions. Illusions don’t pay the bills; they always lead us to wrong decisions. The PKP was not, is not and will not be the pillar of a policy that squeezes people’s lives.” majority and is an open door for the profits of economic groups,” he said.

Paulo Raimundo believed that “for the election of deputies serving economic groups, bankers, shareholders of CTT, Altice or ANA, large distribution companies, multinational corporations at the disposal of the European Union, NATO or war, there are several, numerous and colorful parameters.”

“But in order to elect deputies to serve the workers, the people and the country, the CDU needs the CDU, these are the deputies,” he argued, adding that “the parties are not all the same, as much as they would like them to be.”

The communist leader said the country was being “plundered by destructive privatizations, negotiations and related corruption,” stressing that “new attempts are being made to privatize what is left of companies and the public sector, as in the case of TAP, but also to legalize tomorrow under the name “ “lobbying” is what today is the crime of influence peddling.”

“Our project, the project of workers, people, democrats and patriots, are the April values of the future of Portugal,” he said.

Calling for the mobilization of the party, Paulo Raimundo called on the PCP “not to abandon anyone” and to “talk” to everyone: “to the indecisive, the dissatisfied, to those who are thinking about not going to vote, to those who, faced with difficulties every day, they stopped believing.”

“The voice of the worker, of each of us, the voice of every user, the voice of those who are concerned about payments and rent for housing, the voice of micro, small and medium-sized entrepreneurs (…) is worth as much as the owners of Galp, Pingo Doce, CTT, Altice, but it could be worth even more if it wasn’t put in the same bag with those who think it belongs to them,” he said.

“It is truly time to come face to face with those who think they own it all, the owners of the country,” he concluded.
