A 67-year-old man accused of crimes related to child pornography was detained by the Judicial Police through the Northern Directorate. Crimes have been committed since March 2023 through computer platforms.
According to the SP statement, the investigation began after international organizations warned about Download images considered to be “abuse and sexual exploitation of minors” taken from Portugal.
During the investigation, it turned out that the man had accessed illegal online content related to the abuse and exploitation of minors. Authorities also seized several multimedia files as well as prohibited firearms.
The SP statement said that the detainee, who has no criminal record, was present at the first extrajudicial interrogation of the detained defendant and was released subject to compulsory measures to establish his identity and place of residence.
