The Directorate General of Consumer Affairs (DGC) has imposed fines amounting to 480 thousand euros following an inspection of tobacco advertising messages and will strengthen these actions regarding advertising of this hot product, it was announced this Thursday.
Heated tobacco is subject to new regulations that came into force on the 16th of this month and are now on par with traditional cigarettes, with the change accompanied by increased oversight by the Directorate General.
“The Directorate General of Consumer Affairs, exercising its powers as a public authority under the Consumer Protection Act, will strengthen its controls on tobacco advertising,” the organization said in a statement this Thursday.
