Andre Ventura attacks AD for admitting she made a possible PS government viable

Chegi President André Ventura criticized the Democratic Alliance (AD) this Saturday for accepting the possibility of a possible PS minority government with a right-wing majority in parliament, pointing to a “sense of rebellion” between the PSD, CDS and IL.

“AD assumes that this will make the PS government viable even if there is a Chegi, SDP and IL majority in parliament. This fact has caused in recent weeks a huge feeling of rebellion among many groups of the PSD, IL and CDU,” said the leader of the far-right party, referring to a statement by PSD President Nuno Melo on this matter.

Therefore, at a press conference held at the party’s headquarters in Lisbon, André Ventura said that it is “absolutely clear” that elements previously associated with these parties are approaching Chega, with some of them such as the former Social Democrat Malo de Abreu, who is called the “story” of the PSD, which topped the Chega lists in the legislative elections on March 10.

“In Chega, those responsible for blood pressure are no longer surprised. It has been said, and it is natural, that a large group of men and women from these parties feel disillusioned, unable to build an alternative to the PS and disappointed in the “cane”. ‘ the feeling that AD is saying that he wants to be in relation to the PS,” he emphasized.

Highlighting the existence of disillusionment among elements of other right-wing parties in the “climate of constant agreement with the PS and the climate of charismatic incapacity,” Ventura opened Chegi’s doors to them, refusing “under any circumstances” to make the government a viable socialist one. minorities, and also criticizes the lack of invitation of Passos Coelho to the AD convention this Sunday.

“The refusal of the invitation to Passos Coelho for a fundamental agreement in the choice of the future electoral program is proof that this right is more connected with internal adjustments of accounts, with an ego that is nothing more than the fear of constantly existing shadows, than with the creation of an alternative. to socialism,” he emphasized.

President Chegi used the recent controversies surrounding TAP and the contract with former executive president Cristina Hourmier-Widener to point out the contrast between left-wing parties and right-wing parties.

“While these right-wingers are at a loss, trying to deny their past, attacking their previous leaders, clearing parliamentary benches and removing leaders, the left is defending itself,” he pointed out, criticizing other parties on his political spectrum: “We are spending time settling scores.” ” , sanitary fences and red lines. It is incomprehensible that 50 days before an election there is a group of parties vying for a seat on the right who say they want to make a Socialist Party government viable.”

Andre Ventura assured that Chega “will not compromise on her image and her DNA” and that she is ready to welcome “everyone who can constitute a real alternative to the PS,” promising to close the party lists next week.

He also added that AD’s message to enable a PS minority government “multiplied by 10 times” the contacts of elements of these parties to get closer to Chega.

“If I were in a party vying for the post of prime minister and my opponent said he would make a PS government viable, the first thing I would do is leave. By leaving, I am discrediting the SDP,” he noted, recalling that Chega and IL arose “because the SDP did not do its job” and gave his own example: “What kind of person would I be if I had not allowed my former party comrades to come to Chega ?”
