Presidential minister criticizes SDP’s ‘love’ for public administration and guarantees ‘not swimming in plain sight’

A presidency minister said Tuesday she knows the SDP’s “love” for statecraft is more visible when the party is on the bench than when it’s in government, ensuring it doesn’t “float in plain sight.” .

“We already know that the love that the PSD usually has for public administration is always more noticeable when she sits on this bench than when she is on this side of the room,” said Mariana Vieira da Silva, answering deputies at a meeting of parliament. parliamentary committee on public administration, spatial planning and local self-government.

The SDP minister usually points to “fat and excess” in the sector, using expressions that indicate that there are too many civil servants or that they work too little.

Mariana Vieira da Silva responded to the PSD parliamentary group, which accused the government of being “eye-oriented” in matters of public administration.

The Minister of the Presidium considered it important that speeches leading to a division between public and private sector workers be excluded from the Assembly of the Republic.

On the other hand, he has criticized the “cut straight” stance he says was adopted by the SDP while he was in government, refuting criticism that since 2015 the executive branch has “floated in plain sight”.

As the minister stressed, the Government “gradually defined a set of priorities and tasks” in this matter, which have been fulfilled.

“It was a path traversed responsibly and step by step, with the fulfillment of the tasks that were in our obligations,” he stressed.
