Ines Sousa Real this Friday mentioned PAN’s readiness to “rethink the government decision” in Madeira. The chairman of the regional government is suspected of corruption crimes, economic participation in entrepreneurship and malfeasance, as well as possible violation of public procurement rules.
“It is important for the SDP not only to think about a successor, but also to get closer to the values of the MHP. (…) The PSD has to name names,” said Ines Souza Real, on whose behalf Miguel Albuquerque “must step aside.”
“The Parliamentary Advocacy Agreement was not a carte blanche for Miguel Albuquerque,” the PAN leader stressed when announcing the meeting of the party’s National Political Commission this weekend.
On Wednesday, the Ministry of Justice and the National Anti-Corruption Unit of the Judicial Police carried out a major judicial operation in Madeira and on the mainland.
“PAN is ready to provide stability,” but it “has no problem going to the polls,” Ines Souza Real said.
PAN Madeira
Madeira’s sole PAN MP confirmed this Friday her willingness to “rethink the agreement”, given the party’s commitment to “the people and the cause”.
“We asked the PSD to choose a different name for ethical and political reasons,” explained Monica Freitas, for whom it is “extremely dangerous to go to early elections” because now is “not the time for populism.”
