According to a note published this Friday, the website of the President of the Republic “is now even more attentive to certain aspects”, including alternative text equivalents of images, allowing information to be transformed according to the reading and interaction needs of different users. .
In this aspect, it allows you to convert content to Braille, enlarge text, improve contrast, text to voice, voice to text, and text to sign language.
In addition, according to the president’s note, greater readability of texts is possible while maintaining minimum sizes and the ability of text to respond to user settings, as well as more universal navigation, such as, for example, moving around the main menu with a mouse. but also with a keyboard.
Users will also be able to read faster and easier by using the structuring of headings and subheadings.
The Gold Seal designation includes an international recommendation from the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), currently in force in all member states of the European Union, as well as a minimum set of usability requirements.
“The presence of the Golden Seal also means that the site has been tested on users, namely users with disabilities or disabilities,” the Presidency of the Republic said in a statement.
According to the Portuguese Observatory of Web Accessibility, there are currently 26 websites with a usability seal, 10 of which are gold, 13 are silver and three are bronze.
The president’s website became the tenth to receive the gold seal.
