Sapo launched the Pol(AI)tólogos project, which combines artificial intelligence and current political events, with which it is possible to decipher the programs of the eight parties/coalitions with seats in parliament, it was announced this Wednesday.
This platform – https://www.sapo.pt/polaitologos – hosted on the Sapo news aggregator “Legislativas 2024”, “is now available, with news, fact checks, opinion pieces and interviews published in an ecosystem of over 150 partners.”
The project features three characters created using artificial intelligence and under human supervision: Catraio (a five-year-old child), Piadolas (a humorist and critic) and Velho do Restelo (a grouch and a pessimist), who will analyze electoral proposals and provide a response through artificial intelligence.
According to Sapo, a political scientist is able to respond to “broadly encompassing” topics, “using an approach that aims to combine the usefulness of the information being considered and the humor that is present in caricatured forms such as characters, agendas presented, and politicians’ arguments.”
This project also allows you to interact with readers and their communities on social networks.
On election day, Sapo will have a “strengthened editorial team dedicated to covering all events, monitoring reality remotely and closely commenting on the development of another decisive date for the fate of the country.”
