Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa has already exercised his right to vote in the Cidade Universitária, at the Faculty of Arts, where the Braga constituency is located.
For the first time, the President of the Republic decided to vote in advance to prevent abstention.
When asked about the progress of the election campaign, Marcelo seemed enlightened, but did not want to comment on any issues related to it.
Marcelo also called on Portuguese people to go to the polls this Sunday, remembering their weight in democracy, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
“The Portuguese will vote and think about what their vote means,” he added.
By 12:00, 25% of the 26,792 voters registered for early mobile voting (VAM) had exercised their right to vote, according to a report given to journalists by the Lisbon City Council councilor responsible for this electoral act, Diogo Moura. .
Lisbon City Council initially prepared three locations for VAM, but ended up opening only one, at the Cidade Universitária, because registrations were “significantly lower than predicted.”
In the University City, 107 polling stations were established, distributed among Aula Magna, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Psychology and Cantina Vella.
