Livre said on Tuesday that the author of the publication quoted by President Chegi on Monday, in which he joked about the possibility of nullifying votes in legislative elections, “is not nominated for any table.”
An official source from Livre confirmed to Lusa that the participant in question “is not nominated for any table.”
On Monday, while attending an election rally in Portalegre, Chega leader Andre Ventura showed a new publication from the social network X (formerly Twitter) in support of his theory about the possibility of distortion of the election results.
We are talking about a publication by a man who identified himself as a member of the Livre, who wrote: “I will be at the polling stations. With me they warn you that all empty votes will go to IL and, obviously, all votes from AD and Chegi will be zero.”
In a post dated Saturday that remains on the profile Lusa was viewing this morning, the post’s author added the following comment: “Of course it’s a joke.”
On Monday, CNE said it would look into suspicions raised by President Chegi about the possibility of the party’s deliberate nullification of votes in legislative elections.
This morning, the President of Chegi posted a video on the social network X (formerly Twitter) in which he once again shows the publication, after doing so to journalists on Monday evening, saying that the author of the tweet would be at the voting table , which Livre had already denied.
On Saturday evening, the Chegi leader said an attempt was being made to “distort the results” of the elections, which would entail “cancellation of votes” for his party. In response to Lusa’s request, CNE officials said Sunday that they had no complaints.
On Sunday, Andre Ventura insisted on the suspicions, warning of the publication of an element that would be at the polling stations in Aveiro, and said on social networks that he was preparing to cancel the votes for Chegu.
BE condemned this “bad joke” and encouraged the member to ask to be relieved of the role he was about to fill, which occurred before Ventura filed the complaint.
