AD cancels a street rally in Chiado on Friday due to bad weather and plans a “big rally” at Campo Pequeno.

The Democratic Alliance (AD) canceled the descent from Chiado in Lisbon planned for Friday due to forecasts of bad weather and planned a “big rally” to end the campaign in Campo Pequeno, the coalition said this Thursday.

The Avenida da Igreja will continue on Friday morning as the first item on AD’s agenda on the final day of the campaign, followed by a Women’s Day lunch.

The descent from Chiado, scheduled for 17:00, was cancelled, and instead a rally was scheduled for 18:00 at Campo Pequeno. The meeting was originally planned under the Rua Augusta arch, at the end of the street.

The election campaign program ends with a youth party already planned for 21:00, the day that PSD President and AD leader Luis Montenegro will go to the comedian Ricardo Araújo Pereira’s program at the SIC: “It makes fun of who it works.”

The agenda for this Thursday in Porto will remain unchanged: a rally in Santa Catarina, which will end with a rally.

The weather on the continent worsened from late Thursday with rain, strong winds, rough seas and snowfall until Sunday, especially in the center and north of the country.

From 03:00 Thursday, all areas of the continent except Santarem, Portalegre and Évora will be under a yellow warning for rainfall, the IPMA said.

The National Emergency Management and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC) also warned on Tuesday of worsening weather conditions from Wednesday and Thursday.

An Orange Alert (second most severe on a scale of three) is issued by the IPMA whenever a “moderate to high risk meteorological situation” occurs, and a Yellow Alert (least severe) occurs when a risk situation arises for certain activities dependent on the meteorological situation.
