BE coordinator Mariana Mortagua said this Thursday that “every woman’s voice is as valuable as any other” and is “a barrier against the right and the extreme right,” calling for active participation in Friday’s demonstration fair.
Mariana Mortagua was on the street this Thursday afternoon in the center of Braga, taking advantage of the respite from the heavy rain that was felt in the city of Braga this Thursday and returning to one of the themes that has characterized her campaign since the beginning. .
“I call on all women to take to the streets and be heard tomorrow. [sexta-feira] because tomorrow the voice also belongs to women, and every woman’s voice is worth as much as any other voice, and I call on you to leave, these women who are a barrier against the far right, women who are a barrier against the right, who want respect and want equality,” he asked.
Mariana Mortagua, who will attend the March 8 demonstration that will be one of the last moments of the campaign, was asked about calls for women to vote that have been heard from other parties in recent days.
“I saw a right-wing campaign against women, a campaign that wants to limit women’s freedom, that wants to return to women’s rights, and I think that women came to Portugal to say no, that they do not accept this. There are rights that we won and not a step back,” he said.
Despite polls showing otherwise, the BE leader was confident that the majority was on the left.
“I am confident that the majority will be on the left, I am confident in the people of this country, opinion polls have shown that we have been very wrong in the past. We want the vote to be about finding solutions and hope,” he said.
Mortagua once again asked for a vote of “conviction” and “commitment to a decisive vote that will change the country and change in terms of housing, education and wages.”
