The President of the Liberal Initiative admitted this Friday that his party will demand the integration of the government decision with the AD, saying that it is impossible to create another country with small concessions, changes and corrections.
“The rules are clear, we are part of the solution, but with demands, because we have never been the party of ease. We want another country, and another country cannot be achieved with small concessions, small changes and patches.” but with ambition, courage and energy,” Rui Rocha said at the latest campaign rally in Lisbon for Sunday’s legislative elections.
At the end of the rally, which began at the Tivoli Theater and ended in Largo de San Domingos, the Liberal leader declared that IL is the “party of the future.”
According to Rui Rocha, current data indicates a growth of IL, which is already very close to the goals set for these legislative elections, which include reaching 12 deputies.
As the rain began to fall and to the strains of “Sunny or rain, Illinois will grow,” the liberal leader insisted on the message he has repeated in recent days that “it’s time to change the country.”
“We are going to be part of the solution, we are going to be part of the transformation that Portugal needs,” he said.
Rui Rocha remained convinced that the country would look different from Sunday because “the path of change is open.”
Calling IL “the party of the future,” he said he needed all young people, as well as parents and grandparents, to “definitely transform the country.”
“Now is the time to decide whether it makes sense to vote for those who will not be part of the solution, or whether it makes sense to support those who are in the solution, those who have solutions that are transformative,” he affirmed.
Therefore, Rui Rocha called on the Portuguese to look at the party lists and find out who is capable of initiating the change that Portugal needs.
“IL is the only party that can reconcile the country with the future, that can reconcile the country with women, that can reconcile the country with youth and that can reconcile the country with prosperity,” he reiterated.
More than 10.8 million Portuguese are called to vote on Sunday to elect 230 members of the Assembly of the Republic.
18 political forces, 15 parties and three coalitions are participating in the elections.
