Andre Ventura reacted to the election night results this Sunday in a speech that included several shouts of support.
The Chegi leader began his speech by pointing his finger at Belem: “This victory must be heard in Belem,” he said. The deputy several times praised the result of the party he leads and said that these elections marked the end of bipartisanship in Portugal.
Ventura also listed a number of campaign participants to whom the deputy dedicates his victory. “This victory belongs to the journalists. I hope that the heads of the election companies will resign. I salute everyone who impartially covered the election campaign,” he said ironically.
The party leader also recalls the victory in Boliqueim, where former President of the Republic Cavaco Silva was born. “It appears more often [Cavaco Silva]Assuncao Christas appears more often, Durao Barroso appears more often.”
Ventura highlights the defeat of the PS and adds that the PSD associated with the CDS-PP “will be equal to or slightly higher than what Rui Rio achieved” in 2022.
“This is not what we would like [maioria de direita com o PSD], but this is what we have in the country at the moment. Only a leader and a very irresponsible party will allow the PS to govern when we have the opportunity in our hands to create a government of change,” he said.
