Bruno Fialho is the leader of ADN, the party that finished fourth in several circles and received 200 thousand euros.

The National Democratic Alternative (NDA) party made significant gains in this Sunday’s legislative elections, finishing fourth in several constituencies. She rose from 13th to 9th place, gaining about 100 thousand votes, ten times more than in 2022, and therefore guaranteed a state subsidy of about 200 thousand euros.

Catholic Bruno Fialho, 48, is the leader who renamed the Republican Democratic Party (founded by Marinho and Pinto) ADN. Fialho graduated from the Faculty of Law of the Modern University of Lisbon (1998–2003), leading the student association for three years. At the same time, he served in the infantry school in Mafra. Today he defends precisely the existence of compulsory military or civil service and criticizes the possibility of recruiting foreigners into the army. “They destroy the military service, create an army in which there are more officers than soldiers, promote the abolition of citizenship and then, in the end, guarantee the preservation of their positions to their mutual friends.” He believes – and wrote in August on the social network X – that hiring “foreigners to fight for Portugal” should “give the right to a military tribunal!”

On a professional level, he founded and collaborates with a consulting company, and also worked as a lawyer and cabin service manager at SATA – Air Açores. From 2012 to 2020, he was director of the National Union of Civil Aviation Pilots.

Politically, in 2020, he succeeded António Marinho e Pinto as president of the ADN, then called the Republican Democratic Party. He stood as a candidate in the 2021 presidential election but withdrew his candidacy to avoid spending “thousands of euros on a media circus,” he said at the time. That same year he ran for the presidency of the Lisbon city council, but the party did not elect a single councilor.
