Ukrainian cyber experts attacked the Russian electronic voting system in the presidential elections, which end on Sunday, the Ukrinform news agency reported today.
Citing sources in Ukraine’s military intelligence (GUR), the agency said that hackers had bypassed “all Russian security systems” and attacks were expected before the end of the vote.
The head of Russia’s Central Election Commission (CEC), Ela Pamfilova, said at least 10,500 attacks on the election system had been blocked since Friday.
Voting in the presidential elections will take place from March 15 to 17. In addition to the current Russian President Vladimir Putin, Leonid Slutsky from the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR), Nikolai Zharitonov from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and Vladislav Davankov from New People are running.
