Donald Trump says he can’t afford bail for tax fraud charges

Former US President Donald Trump told the court this Monday that he cannot provide bail for the full amount of the civil fraud conviction to which he was sentenced, about 415 million euros, while he appeals.

The former president’s lawyers said Trump cannot pay his $456 million (about 415 million euros) bail to appeal his conviction after a New York state appeals court judge ruled on that amount last month.

In February, Judge Arthur Engoron found that Trump, his company and top executives, including his sons Eric and Donald Trump Jr., hatched a plan to defraud banks and insurance companies by inflating his wealth based on false financial evidence to secure loans. and do business.
