Train service was restored on Tuesday between Tua and Regua stations on the Douro line after a rockfall, an Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP) source said.
Due to the fall of rocks on the track on the 137.1 kilometer of the Douro line, rail traffic was suspended at 8 a.m. on Monday between the stations of Tua, Carraceda de Anciaes municipality, Bragança district, and Peso da Regua, Vila district. Real.
An IP source told Lusa that cleaning and repair work was completed at 3:40 am, after which train services were restored.
As a preventative safety measure, a speed limit of 10 kilometers per hour was introduced between kilometers 136.9 and 137.1.
Upon discovering rocks on the road, IP maintenance crews immediately moved to the site, while CP provided transportation for passengers between Tua and Regua stations.
