Arrives at a meeting of the European far right. Find out what was said

Europe’s far-right parties met in Rome, Italy, to discuss curbing immigration on the continent and opposing Ursula von der Leyen’s second term as President of the European Commission, the agency reported this Saturday. Reuters.

The meeting was attended by delegations from Cega, the Italian League, the French National Union, the Austrian Freedom Party and Belgian Flamams Belang. Alternative for Germany did not receive any invitation to attend.

The parties agreed to tighten immigration rules in Europe. “A country or a European Union that does not protect its borders commits murder against its own people,” said League federal secretary Matteo Salvini.

The Italian Deputy Prime Minister also failed to convince Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to join the Identity and Democracy party in the European Parliament. Instead, the Brothers of Italy party is part of the European Conservative and Reformist Group.

Frenchwoman Marine Le Pen from the National Union provoked Georgia Meloni at the meeting. “Will you support von der Leyen’s second term or not? I believe so. And in this way you will contribute to the deterioration of the policies that cause so much suffering to the people of Europe,” he said.

This issue strengthened Matteo Salvini’s position. “You have an obligation to tell the truth to the Italians. You have to decide what you will do. On the right, the only candidate who will oppose von der Leyen is Matteo Salvini,” added Marine Le Pen.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Italy took advantage of this signal. “Marin asks if the Italian voices are ready to support the repetition of this Commission. I say this calmly: the voters who choose the League will never choose a mandate with Von der Leyen and the Socialists,” he said.

President of the Portuguese Chega Andre Ventura, whose words are quoted by the agency Eferecalled the recent election results in Portugal, now referring to the “battle between good and evil.”

“And now we are on the path to victory in the European elections. Our values are at stake. Europe is a Christian continent, and it must remain so,” the Portuguese deputy emphasized.

Identity and Democracy is the sixth largest party in the European Parliament, but polls put it in fourth place. European elections will take place from 6 to 9 June.
