Nuno Borges hopes for the first semi-final of his career at the Estoril Open

This Friday, Portuguese tennis player Nuno Borges will be able to reach the semi-finals of an ATP tournament for the first time, meeting Chilean Christian Garin in the quarter-finals of the Estoril Open.

For the second time in the ATP quarter-finals and for the first time at the Estoril Tennis Club, Nuno Borges, ranked 62nd in the world, will face Garin for the first time, who was once in the top 20 but is currently ranked 112th in the hierarchy .

The Portuguese number one’s meeting with the Chilean tennis player will be the second on Center Court after the match, which started at 12:00, between Pole Hubert Hurkacz, the second seed, and Spaniard Pablo Llamas Ruiz, who arrived from the qualifying round.

Also out of the qualifying round, but as a “lucky loser” after the withdrawal of Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokin, Frenchman Richard Gasquet, winner of the Portuguese tournament in 2015, will meet Spaniard Pedro Martinez.

2023 champion and top seeded Norwegian Kasper Ruud will complete the center court program by facing Hungary’s Marton Fucsovics (ranked 85th).
