Minister announced PSP and GNR subsidies

The Home Secretary announced this Monday that on May 2 she will present a proposal for a grant to PSP and GNR members, which she believes will satisfy the police.

“In this protocol that we discussed today, the priority was the discussion of risk subsidies, which is a horizontal issue that trade unions consider a priority and which we, the government, will take into account,” Margarida Blasko told reporters: following meetings with social and professional associations PNP and PSP trade unions.

The Minister clarified that she does not yet know whether it will be a risk subsidy or a mission allowance, and then a formula applicable to PSP and GNR will be found.

Margarida Blasco refused to say what amount and how the subsidy would be provided, citing a proposal that would be presented on May 2.

“We are working very hard to present this proposal to the unions with all the conditions and, as we understand, to the satisfaction of all police professionals,” he said.

The Minister said that a multidisciplinary team has been created between the Ministries of Finance and Internal Administration, which is working together.

This was the new Minister’s second meeting with the PSP and GNR structures, with today’s meeting presenting the proposed negotiation protocol and relevant issues to be discussed.

Margarida Blasco received separately five socio-professional associations from the National Republican Guard and six trade unions from the Public Security Police.
