The completely renewed PS list for the European elections, which will be led by former minister Marta Temido, was approved this Monday by the National Political Commission with 76% of the votes, an official source told Lusa.
The meeting of the National Political Commission of the PS, which took place in Largo do Rato, approved the candidacy of PS leader Pedro Nuno Santos for the European elections on June 9, a list that did not include names who are currently members of the European Parliament. .
Marta Temido, current deputy and former minister of health in António Costa’s three governments, tops the list, followed by Francisco Assis, currently deputy PS and former president of the Economic and Social Council, and Ana Catarina Mendes, also a deputy and former minister.
Next come Bruno Gonçalves, General Secretary of the Youth Socialist International, and André Rodrigues, PS deputy in the Legislative Assembly of the Autonomous Region of the Azores.
In sixth place is Carla Tavares, President of the Chamber of Amadora and President of the Lisbon Metropolitan Council, followed by Isilda Gomes – President of the City Council of Portimão and the National Association of Mayors PS.
Sérgio Gonçalves, PS deputy in the Legislative Assembly of Madeira and former PS/Madeira president, is in eighth place, while in ninth place – there are currently nine MEPs in the PS – is Miguel Lemos, currently chairman of the board of directors of Aguas de Gaia.
