The PKP Secretary General today called on young people to “take April into their own hands”, believing that the answers to their problems lie in the values achieved 50 years ago.
“I would like to leave a message to the youth, to those who were born and raised after April 25, to take April into their hands, this April is theirs, because it contains answers to problems such as housing,” Paulo Raimundo said in a statement to journalists in Seixal, Setubal district, a few minutes before the show dedicated to the 50th anniversary of April 25, which takes place today in this municipality.
The PCP leader believes that the April path is not a path of low wages, low reforms, difficulties accessing the National Health Service, instability and something that pushes thousands of young people out of the country every day.
“It’s just the opposite, it’s the path to happiness and the sanctification of rights, and that’s what needs to be renewed,” he stressed, adding that the current government’s options “do not follow the path of April” as they aim to further concentrate the wealth of the 10 percent the richest people in the country.
Paulo Raimundo said that the April path is the path of a policy that serves the majority, that is, 4.5 million employees and two million retirees and retirees.
