The “Omnibus Law” of the Miley government is approved by the Argentine Congress

The law on the foundations and starting points of the freedom of Argentines, known as the “omnibus law”, a symbolic project of the government of President Javier Miley, was approved on Tuesday in the Chamber of Deputies of the Argentine Congress.

The law was approved both in general and in particular, by 142 votes to 106, with five abstentions. This means that after approval in the lower house of the Argentine parliament, it will now move to the Senate.

After nearly 26 hours of debate, between the overall text and analysis of its constituent chapters, the lower house of Congress approved the Libertarian government’s most ambitious bill yet, one that would pare down more than 600 original articles to just a few. 200, after difficult negotiations with the opposition and reforms in the articles.
