Operation Safe Pilgrimage 2024 will be carried out in two phases, the first of which will begin from Saturday to May 11, by guarding the most important routes, namely pedestrian routes used by pilgrims, as well as areas around the event site and relevant sections of access roads. .
The second phase of the operation will take place from May 12 to 14 to “guarantee the safety of religious celebrations taking place in the Fatima Sanctuary and surrounding areas.”
Since most people participating in pilgrimages travel on foot, in large groups, often traveling on busy roads and with narrow or no shoulders, the NPR leaves some tips for pilgrims, such as “walking in single file” and signaling. beginning and end of groups.
