The Minister of Internal Administration confirmed this Friday that the government is “well aware of the limitations and needs” of the security forces, identifying five principles of action to improve careers in the PNP and PSP.
In her speech at the ceremony marking the 113th anniversary of the PNP in Lisbon, a day after the Ministry of the Interior presented a proposal for a subsidy for the remuneration of the platform of unions and associations of the PSP and the PNP, which was met with criticism, Margarida Blasco emphasized the “priority” of the implementation of the multiannual framework investments in technical, operational and infrastructural resources, as well as human resources.
“The government is clear that enhancing the dignity of the security forces’ careers involves five main aspects,” the minister said, not forgetting to note that enhancing the value of human resources “necessarily includes investing in enhancing the dignity of their careers.”
According to Margarida Blasco, the five principles are based on “equitable professional and remunerative development covering all categories”, on “restoring the attractiveness of careers”, on “creating conditions for displaced members”, with support for placement, on strengthening “monitoring in health matters” and strengthening “respect for the authority of security forces and protection against deterioration of the system of criminal sanctions for crimes committed against their agents.”
On Thursday, the government provided a subsidy to social and professional associations of the People’s Republic of Poland based on the basic salary of the commander-general of the People’s Republic of Poland.
According to the government’s original proposal, to which Lusa had access, officers would receive a subsidy of 12% of the basic salary of the Commander-General of the Hungarian People’s Republic, which amounts to €5,216.23, while the percentage for sergeants is 9% and for guardsmen 7%. .
According to the Association of Professional Security Guards (APG/GNR), the mission allowance offered for PSP and GNR members ranges from €365.13 to €625.94, an increase of up to €75.
At the end of a meeting with Interior Minister Margarida Blasco, APG/GNR President César Nogueira described this first government proposal as “very bad.”
