Judicial workers’ union accuses guardianship of slavery

This Friday, the president of the Union of Judicial Servants pointed out to the government a “slavish drift” in wage negotiations, called for an urgent increase in justice funding and called the strike a “cry of despair” and “the only possible recourse.”

In the opening speech at the 9th National Congress of the Union of Judicial Servants (SFJ), which is taking place in Anadia, Aveiro, until Sunday, President António Marsal highlighted the continuing loss of human resources in the careers over the past few years.

He justified the loss of human resources on wage issues, such as a base starting salary slightly above the national minimum wage, making the career unattractive for retaining talent or motivating new employees, and retirement or leaving for another career in the State.
