Marta Temido says the opposition doesn’t need help to blow it up

The head of the PS list in the European elections, Marta Temido, said this Wednesday that the opposition does not need help to blow it up and refused to answer her opponents “because the focus is on Europe.”

On the fourth day of the campaign, the former health minister visited the Aljustrel mining park and simulated an explosion at a depth of about 30 meters.

“To blow up the opposition? I’d almost say she doesn’t need help, that seems pretty obvious to me. As for paving the way, we need to pave the way for Brussels, but with meaning: a sense of affirmation of Portugal, to follow a difficult path that needs to be walked and that no one will do for us,” he said.

After interrogation by journalists, she assured that she was not symbolizing a response to the opposition’s attacks.

“I am not answering for two reasons: firstly, because we are interested in talking about Europe and our political projects. I am sure that the candidate is from this opposition party, from AD, but other candidates also agree with me, and that’s what we’ll talk about,” he explained.

In his opinion, it is the voters who must respond, leaving a guarantee that they will not count on him to “continue this line.”

“I’m not interested in discussing candidates, and I’m not interested in discussing anything other than Europe, other than our different views on Europe. We can talk about fundamental rights, which are the subject of a clear division, no one ignores this, but there are other equally important topics,” he said.

Among them, he highlighted social issues, work, environment, industry and development.

The Aljustrel Mines, also known as the Aljustrel Mining Complex, consists of a group of mining operations that support over 1,200 direct jobs.

The part that Marta Temida visited in the morning is deactivated and prepared for the visit, recreating the bottom of the mine.
