Former Secretary of State Sérgio Monteiro on Wednesday denied that he was aware of the compensation paid to former KP administrator and current Secretary of State Cristina Dias, and assured that there was no approval on his part.
“Were we aware of any compensation awarded for the appointment [para a AMT]? […] the answer is no, neither this nor the other 3,000 layoffs and compensations that took place in the sector for which I was responsible,” said this Wednesday the former Secretary of State for Infrastructure, Transport and Communications, Sérgio Monteiro, to the parliamentary Committee on Economy, Public Works and Housing construction, called at the request of Chegi, since he was performing public functions at the time of Cristina Dias’s departure from CP – Comboios de Portugal.
The former ruler guaranteed that “at no time will any compensation or cost be submitted to the State Secretariat for approval.”
“There was no approval on my part, either formally or by telematic means,” assured Sergio Monteiro.
The newspaper Correio da Manhã reported on April 19 that Cristina Pinto Dias, the current Secretary of State for Mobility, left CP in July 2015 with compensation of about 80,000 euros, and later worked as administrator of the Office of Mobility and Transport (AMT). ), invited by the PSD/CDS-PP government, his salary and hospitality expenses amount to about 13,440 euros per month, almost double the 7,210 euros he received in the KP.
