The National Electoral Commission (CNE) has received 45 complaints and 978 written requests for information until May 31 for the European elections, Fernando Anastasio, the organization’s spokesman, told Luse this Friday.

Between March 27 and May 31, “about 978 written requests for information were sent to the National Election Commission,” and these “topics mainly related to information about voting tables and early voting,” the same official said, adding that this week The report will be closed today.

Regarding “participations, complaints and requests for opinions, these are mainly matters of more direct interaction (…) we had 76 participations and requests for opinions, corresponding to 45 complaints and 31 requests for opinions,” he explained.

The complaints mainly concern “institutional advertising, about 20”, compliance with “the constitution of the table, events before or on election day, journalistic treatment of candidates and propaganda, and the neutrality and impartiality of government organizations.”

“Essentially, these are the topics that concern complaints, and the objects of complaints, in fact, are local authorities, media bodies and other government agencies,” he added.

European elections are scheduled for June 9.
