Extended to February 27 deadline for reporting household changes to the IRS.

The government announced this Thursday an extension to February 27 for taxpayers to report their household to the tax authorities, which is also the deadline for reporting long-term leases.

The Treasury Department clarifies in a statement that the deadline for taxpayers to report household changes that occurred in 2022 expired on Wednesday, Feb. 15, and taxpayers now have 12 more days to do so.

Deadlines have also been extended for other declarative obligations, such as linking a dependent’s school attendance to income, attributing expenses and real estate to taxpayer activities, and reporting long-term leases that indicate guardianship.
