Electric Mercedes-Benz G-Class 580 turns heads in Vilamoura

The Mercedes-Benz On The Road surprise, which takes place in the port of Vilamoura in the Algarve, was unveiled on the first day of the event and attracted the attention of thousands of people who had already passed by: no one remains indifferent. The new Class G 580 is fully electric and has a range of features and functions that take one of the brand’s most traditional models into the future.

The unmistakable features of the model range are present, highlighted by some changes such as a higher bonnet, small roof mouldings and a front panel with LED lighting instead of the traditional grille. These external signs of innovation are a small example of a real internal revolution, starting with four electric motors, one for each wheel, which guarantee effective traction, resulting in brilliant performance, especially on asphalt, allowing you to overcome obstacles that other cars cannot beat.

This all-electric model features numerous innovations, among which the G-Turn function stands out, allowing the vehicle to change direction virtually without leaving its place, as if it were a military vehicle, and G-Steering, which significantly reduces the turning radius, an extremely useful advantage off-road and on particularly narrow country roads.

The electric Mercedes-Benz G-Class 580 has a range of up to 473 kilometers, and the power can reach 587 horsepower (combined power). The interior features a corresponding set of innovations, especially in terms of technologies available on the control panel, providing a more comfortable driving experience and infotainment system, which makes the driving experience also very interesting and attractive on the asphalt and in urban conditions.

Although the car is only on display in Vilamoura (like the much-photographed Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV), blogger and influencer Joana Vaz has already taken the wheel for a moment. “It’s an incredible feeling, and this car has everything it needs to follow a very successful trajectory, given what’s happened with the different models in this range,” he said.

Joana Vaz tested two other Mercedes-Benz models in Vilamoura, the CLE Cabrio and the EQE Limousine, during the road show that the brand is promoting in the port of Vilamoura until August 18, and was… doubly satisfied. “They were two fantastic experiences!” he exclaimed.

“The EQE limousine has plenty of space and takes us back to a more family-oriented style, while the CLE Cabrio is ideal for a couple, for a well-spent weekend,” emphasized Joana Vaz, adding: “Both have the equipment inside that we have become accustomed to from this brand, and now it has been improved. For example, I liked the fact that the CLE Cabrio display has an adjustable value, especially in bright street conditions.”

During the tests carried out in Vilamoura, Joana Vaz noticed the interest of the people. “They looked a lot and especially the CLE Cabrio, a car that is clearly eye-catching and stands out for its characteristics, but all the Mercedes-Benz models presented at this event provide a fantastic driving experience adapted to each person’s lifestyle. I believe that the now famous electric G-Class 580 will quickly become a benchmark for the brand, because thanks to its characteristics and range of innovative features, combined with respect for nature and environmental issues, for example, it is a fully electric vehicle.”

At the Mercedes-Benz On The Road exhibition, which is taking place in Vilamoura from August 9, those interested will be able to test several models of the brand – EQS 580 4Matic SUV, EQS 450+ Limousine, EQE 350+ SUV, EQE 350 Limousine, EQA 250. +, EQB 350 4Matic, E 300e Limousine, E 300de 4Matic All-Terrain, CLE 220d Cabrio. Only the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 4Matic+ coupe, the new electric G-Class 580 and the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV will be presented at the exhibition.

Many people, especially Portuguese on holiday, have already visited the Mercedes-Benz Roadshow in Vilamoura Marina, but among the visitors there are also several foreigners who are customers of the brand in their countries, attentive to the latest news and interested to know about the constant innovations of some of the models available and, above all, about the power of the electric motors, as well as the functions available on the control panels.
