Morgan Stanley International bank president Jonathan Bloomer and lawyer Chris Morvillo of Clifford Chance are among those missing from a yacht that sank off Sicily, Italy, the BBC reported on Tuesday.
British tech tycoon Mike Lynch was among those reported missing when his luxury yacht sank in a storm, it was announced on Monday.
Also missing is Lynch’s 18-year-old daughter, Hannah Lynch.
The 56-metre (186-foot) British-flagged sailing vessel Bayesian with 22 people on board sank off Porticello, a coastal town about 15 kilometres (9 miles) east of Palermo, at about 5 a.m. (4 a.m. in Lisbon) on Monday after a severe storm, the coastguard said.
The yacht had 10 crew and 12 passengers, 15 of whom, including Lynch’s wife Angela Bacares, were rescued, and a body was found that local media believes was the boat’s cook.
Divers are searching the hull of the sunken ship, which is at a depth of about 49 metres, while patrol boats and coast guard helicopters are searching the area for missing people.
Four of the missing passengers are British, two are American.
Bloomer, 70, is a British citizen and has served on the boards of several companies, while Morvillo worked on several corruption cases and was New York’s district attorney from 1999 to 2005.
Morvillo also participated in the criminal investigation of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in New York City.
