Kevin Cardo, a 24-year-old man, died from stab wounds in Montemor-o-Novo, Evora, on Thursday evening. The alarm was raised by the victim’s partner, who lived with the young man.
The alarm was received at 19:50. The young man, who had been stabbed in the area above his stomach, was still stabilised at the scene, but when he was transported to hospital he suffered cardiopulmonary arrest and was pronounced dead at the Evora hospital department.
Volunteer firefighters from Montemor-o-Novo and VEMER from the Espírito Santo Hospital in Évora were dispatched to the scene.
The SP is currently investigating the incident. When law enforcement officers arrived at the scene, the young man was still conscious and explained that he had cut himself with a knife while eating a watermelon.
