Since the pandemic, he has been hiding his mother’s body in the freezer to collect his pension.

A 54-year-old man hid the body of his 78-year-old mother in a freezer to continue receiving his pension in the municipality of Sarroch on the island of Sardinia in Italy.

According to Spanish television Antenna3Rosanna Pilloni died of natural causes during the COVID-19 pandemic, but her son Sandro Mallus could not provide an exact date of death.

The body was discovered by Italian police during a search of the house where they lived after receiving a report of the woman’s absence, the Italian channel reports. RaySpanish television reports this.

Sandro is the prime suspect and has been charged with aggravated fraud against the state and concealment of a corpse.

Neighbors who have long noticed Rosanna’s absence say that the mother and son lived in a very difficult economic situation, which could explain the son’s need to hide the body in order to continue receiving money.

Appropriate examinations of the body will be carried out to determine the cause of death.
