The case is dated February 23, 2022. Paula Cunha, her husband and two children were sleeping at their home in Igreja Nova, municipality of Barcelos, when they were surprised by four hooded armed men.
A CMTV had access to video recordings from surveillance cameras, which captured one of the moments when two robbers are on the territory of the victims. The pictures show that they approach family dogs that do not react aggressively to their presence.
A year later, the family lives in shock, as there are no detainees. “It is very difficult, we are very afraid to go out. I used to love walking along the promenade, but now I can’t do anything, because I constantly feel that I’m being followed,” she says. cm Paula Cunha.
Closer to 2 am on the 23rd, the quartet entered the house and immediately went to the room where the couple was resting. “I woke up from a punch in the face and from the fact that I was on top of a man,” says Paula. “My youngest son woke up with a gun pointed at his head, it’s very hard,” she says emotionally.
At dawn, Paula was separated from her husband and children, who were locked in a room with cable ties. When she was taken to the room where the rest of the family was, she saw how her husband and son were attacked with a crowbar. Given the severity of the injuries, everyone was hospitalized.
A group that escaped by car carried away a large sum of money and gold from the house. In June last year, the SP in Braga identified and interrogated 13 people. However, they were all released. “I know that the JV is doing a good job, but it’s very outrageous because it’s been a long time.
